Ding Dong 2024
Ding Dong is a lo-fi arrival announcing machine. Rather than producing a high pitched sound you can hear over loud music or when watching TV I propose aesthetically pleasing door"bells". One that flashes a light, one that produces a smoke signal (and could be infused with scent like lavender or lemon), and one that creates a tambourine sound by mechanically moving tambourine jingles back and forth.
Inorganic Resonators 2024
Hljómkassar is a project focused on developing and building innovative, directional acoustic speakers from Icelandic materials.
Inorganic Resonators were nominated for Product of the year at the Icelandic Design Awards 2024.
Jónófón 2012
In 2012 I graduated as a Product Designer from LHÍ. My graduation project was a turntable made out of paper and plywood, called Jónófón.
Upcycled side table 2019
A side table for FÓLK Reykjavík that uses Solid Textile Board from Kvadrat Really.
Solid Textile Board is a high-density material made from end-of-life textiles and cut offs from danish textile company Kvadrat. "Considering current textile waste streams, the board is made up of cotton and wool as these textiles are typically downgraded in existing recycling processes."
Chess set 01 2023
Chess set inspired by the Bauhaus chess set, designed by Josef Hartwig in 1923, where each piece's appearance is supposed to communicate its movement across the board.
Urban Nomad shelves 2017
The Urban Nomad shelves are multi-functional. They are designed so you can arrange them into grids, creating very aesthetically pleasing forms, however you see fit.
Urban nomad console table 2019
Designed for FÓLK Reykjavík.
After releasing the Urban Nomad wall shelves in 2017 FÓLK Reykjavík asked me to add to the collection. I sketched around 20 ideas, where I used the same materials and the same wooden shelves (to simplify production) but in a new setting.
Krafla lightshade 2014
A lightshade designed by me and Þorleifur Gunnar, working from under JL Ad Agency, for Landsvirkjun, made for a geothermal expo in Harpa. The original shape of these light shades is adapted directly from Landsvirkjun’s dome shaped drillhouses (borholuhús) designed by architect Einar Þorsteinn in 1980.
Og svo kemur sólin 2022
My second solo exhibition - held in Ásmundarsalur 10.11.22 - 20.11.22
It’s cloudy, foggy, drizzling. The surroundings are gray and seem to merge into one.
Just add sun. And the surroundings sharpen, burst to life and gain depth.
